We are local guides from Bukit Lawang — born here, certified by HPI-ITGA, and dedicated to this forest for over 15 years. We know the orangutans of Gunung Leuser National Park by name. Wildlife &
Nature

The forests of Bukit Lawang are teeming with life at every turn. You have an excellent chance of spotting Thomas Leaf Monkeys, macaques, gibbons (often heard before they're seen), hornbills, and a fascinating variety of birds and insects — all thriving in their natural rainforest habitat.

And of course, the stars of the jungle — the Sumatran Orangutans. We have known many of them by name for over 15 years, each with their own personality, habits, and story. But we'll save those tales for the trail. By the time your trek is over, you won't just feel like a visitor. You'll feel like you've made old friends.

Just a short trip away, in a neighbouring village, lies the rare chance to witness the Amorphophallus Titanum (Corpse Flower) and the Rafflesia in bloom. Both flower unpredictably — our guides check the sites every single day.

Our trails are suitable for most fitness levels — nothing extreme or technical. Our guides adjust the pace and rest stops based on your condition and the weather. Multi-day treks require more stamina, but overall the trekking hours and physical demand remain moderate and manageable.
Sturdy non-slip shoes, a change of clothes, water (one bottle is enough — drinking water is available at the campsite), cash, insect repellent, swimwear (for river tubing and swimming — the river water around our campsites is crystal clear!), and basic toiletries.
We offer pickup and drop-off from Medan city centre and Medan airport — just contact us with your itinerary for a quote. Budget travellers can ask us for a public bus guide. However you arrive, your guide will be waiting at the car park to walk you to your hotel and brief you on the trek.
The 50% deposit is non-refundable. A jungle trek is a full team effort — beyond your guide, our crew includes a rainforest cook and workers who carry food supplies and rafting equipment, all booked and paid in advance. We appreciate your understanding.
